CONCEPT

The CONTINI 1898 winery was built according to the design of architect Giovanni Montessoro, who favoured the geometric sign of the circle (representing the Sun of Sinis) and parallel straight lines (the rays of the sun). Consistent with his ideas, we moved to create a visual image that is coherent with his design and capable of establishing itself as original and developing and strengthening over time.

THE PROJECT

SEDPLUS participated from the very beginning in the restyling process when the spaces of the CONTINI 1898 winery were still an open building site. From that moment on, every visual aspect was designed and implemented with the ultimate goal of creating a new brand narrative capable of conveying a renewed identity and improved market positioning.

The architectural renovation project was carried out by the studio of architect GIOVANNI MONTESSORO.

The photographs were taken with international photographer ANTONIO SABA.

The social strategy

The new narrative of the CONTINI 1898 wine cellar has been declined through the company’s social channels. A new visual identity has thus taken shape, which through a reference to the shapes of the aforementioned ‘Sun of Sinis’, translated through circular gradients, conveys the idea of a ‘suspended’ time flowing swiftly now forwards, thanks to innovation, now backwards, searching for the roots of a distant past.

Both the photographs and the reels intended for social publications Instagram and Facebook were realised by the SEDPLUS staff.

 

The restyling of the Sartiglia line

The design of the new PARIGLIA label stems from the need to bring up to date the line of three wines dedicated to the main event of Oristano carnival: the Sartiglia Packaging. In the study of the new design, we emphasised the typical and recognisable elements of the knights‘ costumes and the horses’ trappings.

The new website

With the new website, we have told the story of a centuries-old winery in a modern key. We have therefore created new textual and visual content, developing an innovative, coordinated look that respects the brand image. Inside the site you can now find the story of the founders of the first winery born in Sardinia, many interesting facts about the territory and exclusive pages, such as those dedicated to Vernaccia di Oristano DOC and the SARTIGLIA and I GIGANTI lines.

Then there is the entire wide range of Contini 1898 wines. Each one has been associated with a specific design to visually recall the sensations linked to scents and taste. Another new feature are the video stories about the wines that give voice to Brand Ambassador Andrea Balleri. Contini 1898 is one of the few wineries to narrate each reference with a brand new video that highlights its special characteristics.

The restyling of the I Giganti line

The project stems from the need to renew the entire image of the I GIGANTI line.

For the new labels, we studied a design that takes up the unmistakable features of the Mont’e Prama statues. We concentrated on the face and in particular on the iconic shape of the eye. Just as the statues re-emerged from a gloomy past, so the new image of I GIGANTI can shine in a new light.
